*Platform fees
Effective November 1, Plivo will apply a platform fee for all WhatsApp messages sent, in addition to the standard carrier rates. A monthly fee will also apply to each registered WhatsApp Business Account.
The new fees are:
- $0.00100 per message for both inbound and outbound WhatsApp messages.
- $10 per month for each WhatsApp Business Account.
Meta Message Types
Meta categorizes templates as either utility, marketing, or authentication, depending on message content.
Note: Marketing, utility, and authentication conversations can only be opened with template messages. Service conversations can be opened with any type of message other than a template message. Visit Meta’s website for more information

| Utility | Enables you to follow-up on user actions or requests. Examples include opt-in confirmation, order/delivery management (e.g., delivery update); account updates or alerts (for example., payment reminder); or feedback surveys. |
| Authentication | Enables you to authenticate users with one-time passcodes, potentially at multiple steps in the login process (e.g., account verification, account recovery, integrity challenges). |
| Service | Enables you to resolve customer inquiries. The first 1,000 service messages per month are free. |
