Messages with alphanumeric sender IDs are acceped only between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time by SFR, Bouygues, and Orange Monday through Saturday. Special characters in sender IDs are rejected or replaced by an escape character. Alphanumeric sender IDs containing the network name are filtered or the message is not delivered. Sender IDs sent to the network "Free" are changed to short codes. "STOP au 36179" should be added at the end of all outbound messages; faliue to incorporate this will lead to the message being rejected. |
| Registration Requirements | Contact Plivo support for registration requirements. |
| Content Restrictions | Must comply with local messaging regulations. |
| Consent Requirements | Express consent recommended for commercial messaging. |
| Opt-Out Requirements | Opt-out mechanism recommended in all commercial messages. |
| Compliance Notes | France regulates the use of long virtual numbers (LVN). It is important to differentiate messages requiring a response and messages that do not (notification-only messages). Notification-only messages must use the company's brand name as the sender ID. Messages that elicit a response must use an LVN as the sender ID. Only one SMS message can be sent every two seconds from LVNs. Per telecom regulations, marketing and promotional messages are allowed only from Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on public holidays. Messages sent outside of these hours are postponed until an allowed time. Other messages will be delivered only on a best-effort basis. All marketing messages should have "STOP au 36179" at the end of the message to ensure they are not rejected. |
